Do ‘Coolie No. 1’ reviews indicate serious issues with Bollywood movies?

There was a time when David Dhawan ruled the kingdom of ‘Comedy’ in Bollywood with his rib-tickling scenes and perfect comic timings. However, the recent unwitty rehash of the original ‘Coolie No. 1’ indicates a serious issue in the Bollywood industry today.

The 2020 spoof of the original ‘Coolie No. 1’ is more or less same, but somehow feels much worse. It seems that the makers did not take any pains to provide something fresh to the audience and just wrapped the stale story with a new package consisting of flashy clothes and scenic backgrounds.

The Indian Express rated the movie 1/5 while IMDb rated 1.5/10. These ratings of the glossed over remake clearly depicts that the audience cannot be tricked in with a designer couture, visually rich colour palette and exotic locations.

It shows that the audience and critics demand a holistic experience when it comes to entertainment today. They expect a movie that is balanced in all aspects like plot, story, dialogues coupled with an aesthetically pleasing view.
